Hillside Retaining Wall & Structural Addition
This property originally sloped directly from the home down to the water, leaving no usable flat yard space and limiting interior access between levels of the house.
To transform both the exterior and interior functionality of the home, we began by drilling multiple pier holes and constructing a new engineered retaining wall system. This allowed us to safely carve out and stabilize a section of flat ground in the backyard — creating usable outdoor space where there was previously only hillside.
In addition, we drilled a massive structural pier and completed a monolithic concrete pour (pier and slab in one continuous placement) to support a small room addition. This addition now houses a custom spiral staircase, directly connecting the lower-level bedroom to the main portion of the home.
Previously, access required exiting the house and walking down an exterior deck staircase. The new structure provides safe, seamless interior access while dramatically improving both functionality and property value.

Seawall & Retaining Wall Replacement
When this client reached out, their existing seawall had begun to fail due to years of water intrusion and structural fatigue. The wall had significant cracking, exposed reinforcement, and undermining at its base. Because the seawall also functioned as a retaining wall, its failure posed both shoreline erosion risks and potential structural instability to the property above.
Our solution went beyond a standard replacement.
We installed long structural tie-back rods extending deep behind the wall and anchored them directly into bedrock to provide permanent lateral stability. In addition, we drilled multiple deep piers and poured reinforced concrete pillars to create a new structural foundation system.
The result is a seawall engineered to outperform the original — stronger, more stable, and built to withstand both hydrostatic pressure and soil loads for decades to come.
